Well now..... what is this then ? !
Just for the fun of it, I've gathered together some nice rarities included in my collection. This includes both 7" and 12" and Long Playing albums.
I've also taken the time to put down some interesting facts regarding the specific item.
The Serpent Power.
Legendary cult album from 1967 in the psych / folk tradition.
Extremely difficult to find in a very good condition. This copy is
as close as you'll ever get to MINT. Even more rarer is this copy,
because included here are the little brochure that shows the
Vanguard releases of 1967. It was included in the very first batch
of copies of the album. This brochure has NEVER occured
in any of the auctions Also the brochure is almost untouched.
You can see it in right hand side of the picture.
The price for this rarity is high.
Snakefinger - History of the Blues
LIVE IN EUROPE, ON ROUGH TRADE RECORDS (RTD 24) WEST GERMANY 1984. The late great Snakefinger at his best, doing what he really knows best, blues, bad ass blues, rockin' blues, boogie down blues, with a twist of jazz!!!!! This long out-of print record was originally released on Rough Trade (Germany). It was recorded live around Europe in Fall/Winter 1984, and only pressed in 1000 copies.
The condition of this copy is great !
A hard to find album from Shakin Stevens, titled " I'm no JD ", released late 1971. Shaky's 2nd long playing . Prices varies and off course depends on the condition, but between $ 55 - $ 75 for a good copy. This copy is in great shape for being 37 years old.....
Ramones - Glad to see you go
The mighty Ramones. From their 1st album comes this single. Issued ONLY in Italy. Extremely scarce due to the fact that Ramones never really did sell many of their issues in any country. What makes this even more rare is the fact that this is a white label PROMO, which were sent out to radio stations and shops to promote the single and forthcoming album. To estimate how many copies of this single that actually has survived the years in a nice condition is off course very difficult, but a guess is that no more than 50 - 75 is out there .... but try to locate one in this condition and you're in for a very hard time....
MINT -
Colin Winski - Rock Therapy
Absolute classic neo rockabilly from 1980, before The Stray Cats. Winski started playing with rockabilly legend Ray Campi 1974, just 17 years old, and stayed until 1979 when Campi turned down an offer to let Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe produce their next album. Colin Winski and Lead Guitarist Jerry Sikorski left and later on the two went separate ways also. Colin Winski sadly died 18th of March 2007 in his home in Phoenix, US. As of ‘press time’ there was no conclusive cause of death.
This album was recorded 1980 with most of the members of Ray Campi's Rockabilly Rebels.
It's a roaring album, and even if it's not fetching top dollar in the auctions yet, it's not that easy to get hold of a really good copy with the original Takoma inner sleeve.
This copy is off course in top condition ;)
A very very rare and almost impossible to find, demonstration record from the UK. From 1963, when Jerry changed record label from SUN to SMASH / Mercury. This issue is indeed rare when they decided to make "Pen And Paper" the A side, when on all other releases of this record it is in fact "Hit The Road Jack" that is the right A side. This Mercury label is probably also the first and earliest for Jerry Lee's releases.
Sex Pistols - Anarchy In The UK - one-sided Acetate, with the "Abbey Road / EMI" swirl label. Probably recorded in Wessex Studios, Oct 1976. Possibly one-of-a-kind item, due to the totally different mix of the song, which also clocks at 3:48 instead of 3:36 that's handwritten on the label. Genuine or not ? Difficult to say, no real authenticy is given here, but on the other hand NO known fake acetate of this historical musical item has ever surfaced . Some say this is genuine, some say it aint, but hey ! Isn't it just the way it is when something turns up which no one really thought existed. Anyway it's a rarity.
